The photographer deals in two series of artistic photography with the work of French architect Le Corbusier: “Après une Architecture“ is presenting the buildings of Le Corbusier in Germany and France, “Cotton and Capital – Le Corbusier in India“ is dedicated to the works in India. In both series Margret Hoppe succeded to capture and express the architecture's spirit of Le Corbusier. As well as the architecture the photography is shifting between functionality and asthetics. With a strong power of obeservation Margret Hoppe is not just documenting the buildings of the architect but also keeps the artist Le Corbusier tangible. Her photography points out precisely to the asthetics of the architecture: Forgetting the “residential machine“ it centres around the idea of constructed Utopia.
